Operation and Maintenance of Water Infrastructure

in North Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta Governorates

The Al Tayer Engineering Services team is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water infrastructure assets in the North Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta Governorates, ensuring the continuous flow of potable water to meet the needs of the population. Our responsibilities include overseeing the efficient operation of desalination plants, transmission lines, and storage and pumping facilities, with a focus on achieving operational efficiency and resource sustainability.

Project Scope:

  • • North Al Sharqiyah Governorate: Management of transmission and distribution lines, wells, tanker filling stations, desalination plants, and booster pumping stations, covering 60% of the governorate’s infrastructure assets.
    • Al Wusta Governorate: Operation and maintenance of surface and groundwater assets, including:
o Desalination plants (RO) with a daily production of 3,000 cubic meters distributed across 10 plants, with the Haima and Lakbahi plants contributing 600 cubic meters per day.

    • Pumping stations, wells, elevated tanks, ground tanks, and chlorination systems to ensure water quality.
    • An extensive distribution and transmission pipeline network to ensure reliable water flow.

Key Components:

  • Desalination plants
  • Pumping stations
  • Wells
  • Generators
  • Elevated and underground tanks
  • Tanker filling stations
  • Chlorination systems
  • Distribution and transportation pipelines

2.

Maintenance & Rehabilitation of Water Distribution Network

on Masirah Island

This project focuses on developing and improving the water distribution network infrastructure on Masirah Island to ensure a safe and stable water supply for the population. The project aims to address leakage issues and improve distribution efficiency through comprehensive maintenance and rehabilitation works.

Project Scope:

  • Rehabilitation and maintenance of the existing distribution network to improve efficiency and address leaks.
  • Construction of a raised steel water tank to enhance storage capacity and ensure adequate water pressure.
  • Installation and maintenance of pipelines to improve water flow.

Key Components:

  • Water distribution network
  • Elevated steel water tank
  • Pipelines

3.

Water Supply to Coastal Areas

of Musandam Governorate

Al Tayer Engineering Services has successfully implemented an innovative solution to provide potable water to 72 coastal areas in Musandam Governorate. This project, the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman, relies on the use of specially designed ships equipped with seawater desalination units powered by energy-saving technologies, capable of treating water of varying qualities. The system produces more than 6,000 cubic meters of potable water per month and will operate continuously for 10 years.

Project Highlights:

  • Offshore vessels equipped with mobile reverse osmosis (RO) desalination units.
  • Pumping facilities tailored to coastal conditions.
  • Collaboration with specialized consultants and obtaining a Tasneef classification certificate.
  • Procurement, construction, and commissioning management by Al Tayer

Key Components:

  • Mobile desalination vessels
  • Reverse osmosis (RO) desalination units
  • Coastal pumping facilities
  • Water distribution systems
  • Chlorination treatment systems
